Art Medium Term Planning
The Art & Design aspect of the National Curriculum was used as the basis of our planning, defining the content (knowledge and skills) of what we teach. In line with our Curriculum Drivers where possible art contexts have been linked to the Topic Themes from other areas, for example when Y6 read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and study WW2, in art they used the context of war artists. To support children in developing cultural undrstanding we have selected a wide range of artists/art movements for them to learn from as they progress through school.
